I’m on AAS 1 with son and AAS 4 with daughter and really looking forward to trying out AAR 2! Thank you for making this easy and fun! For years (I’ve been homeschooling 17 years now), I used a program that was based on the Writing Road to Reading. It was an excellent program, but so hard & cumbersome to teach! I dreaded it every day even though I believed in the method. I even had to attend a seminar to teach it better. When I saw your program, I immediately dropped what I was doing and we are all happier and learning a lot! Love, LOVE. LOVE <3 this program!!!!
I started the Level Pre-1 with my two boys several weeks ago and it is going great! It really is one of the highlights of their day. I have seen improvement in my four year old already. Before he didn’t understand rhyming and now trying to come up with words that rhyme is a game that he loves to play almost everyday.
We just started working through AAR 1, but are so excited about it. I can’t wait to see AAR 2!

Oh. My. Goodness. How we love this program! We are using AAR1 with my special needs kiddo and we are all loving it! His confidence is exploding and I love to hear him scream out, “See, I CAN read!”. I am in process of using all about spelling with my second child. I loved the layout so much, I decided to give all about reading a try with my youngest. She is motivated to read and wants to complete the lessons. Today, we made our ice cream cones from lesson 3. I can see her really enjoying feeding the monster on our next lesson.
We’ve only been using AAR for a couple of weeks but my daughter loves it!

All About Reading has made it easier for me to plan. I trust it to teach reading concepts in the right order and in the right way (I did my research and I’m a reading teacher) and it is so extremely easy to follow. I could create my own curriculum, but with AAR I don’t have to! One less thing for me to do!
we just started using pre-1 a few weeks ago. it turned out that my daughter doesn’t quite understand rhyming yet. we are progressing now! my kids just love the activities and i find it SO easy to do an educational activity with them now!!!

I just started AAR level 1 with my twin girls for Kindergarten. While it is slightly above their level right now, I know we will finish it by the end of this year. Used the prereading program last year and Just started AAR 1. So far so good. It is easy for me to teach and he loves ziggy. This program keeps his attention which will help me teach him in a way that fits his interests. Looking forward to AAR 2.

I think it would be a great tool because of the incremental steps that is used to teach a child to read. It’s not so overwhelming. I also like the step by step instructions for the teacher! =-)

I love All About Reading and All About Spelling. All About Spelling has helped my dyslexic with auditory processing disorder learn to read and spell better. And my reluctantly reading son love the readers and reads them over and over.
We are in AAS 3 and love it for our kids! One of our children has dysgraphia and this curriculum has been a saving grace for us since K. We are in 4th now!

We have been waiting for AAR2 for months!! We are so so excited about it’s upcoming release! My son has been re-reading all of his AAR1 readers as we have been awaiting AAR2. I am so pleased that he remembers each story from the first time around months ago and is excited so read them again. We have been practicing on him reading smoother and have been making some major progress! Can’t wait to start AAR2! We would be beyond thrilled if we won it!! My daughter is currently finishing the pre-reading and it has given her a huge jump on reading! I think she is going to zoom through the first several lessons in AAR1. She loves the craft sheet everyday and her big brother always insists on doing one with her because they are so fun. The Ziggy games have really helped her so much. She started spontaneously sounding our words on her own last month!! AAR1 gave my son such a good foundation that he is zooming through AAS1, so we will be ordering level 2 very soon for him! I haven’t yet used AAR, but think it would be a great asset for teaching my kids to read. We’ve done a couple of the freebies and my four year old really enjoyed it and then even wanted to lead me in the activity.
I am currently using Pre Level with my 3 year old and Level 1 with my 4 year old. They are both LOVING the program. My 6 year old is feeling left out and recently told me she wants her own! So, I’ve been impatiently waiting for Level 2 to come out. I think she would love it!
Can’t wait for the next level of AAR to come out! My daughter grew by leaps and bounds last year using level one, she is 12 1/2 and is highly dyslexic, this is the first at home program that has worked for her, and it works greatly with the Barton that her tutor is using.

I really like AAR for my son. He is not a fan of sitting still, but there is a lot of AAR that we can do as he runs from one side of the room to the other so it works well for him. I am looking forward to level 2′s release.

I am currently a graduate student, studying ECE with an emphasis on Early Literacy Instruction. I have tried nearly every reading program out there for my oldest daughter, whom I am homeschooling–nothing worked. By using what I have learned in my courses I was finally able to teach her to read through trial and error. However, last year I finally discovered AAL and I used AAS with her–and that also helped tremendously!! Now I am in the know for my youngest whom I am homeschooling for Kindergarten this year! We are starting out on the right foot using AAR Level 1 right now–and she LOVES it!!! Not only is this researched-based and everything I have learned in my courses thus far, my youngest is not only learning to read–she is learning to LOVE learning to read! I am ever grateful for this product that has made my job so much easier! Looking forward to Level 2!! Keep up the great work!

I would love to experience AAR with my son. I am using AAS with my daughter.
I love how AAR uses so many different methods of repeating the information. I’m just getting started teaching my youngest to read, but he loves doing the lessons. The activities are fun, and he loves showing off what he’s accomplished. I love the box and dividers that keep everything organized for me. If we have a moment or two, I can just pull out the cards we’re reviewing and go through them with my son quickly.

I’m actually an ESL teacher; but I have a group of English Mother Tongue students now too. I LOVE IT! They are so enthusiastic. Only 5 and so eager to start reading. Adorable!!
My 5 year old is nearly done with AAR1 and the 4 year old is just beginning. I am confident that they are getting a good foundation on which to build with such a sequential phonics approach to reading! They LOVE the cut out activities,the feeding the monster game, and the other activities to reinforce learning.
The phonics program we’re using now just isn’t working for my youngest. I would love to try AAR because my oldest is doing so well with AAS.
I am very excited about the release of AAR 2. We are finishing up AAR1 and it has helped my son go from frustration and tears to actually wanting to read!
We are somewhat at a stand still in our phonics progression and I really think this looks like something that would help!!

AAR 1 has really helped my 4 and 5 yr old girls learn to read. We are absolutely loving it and can’t wait to move up to level 2!!!!
I purchased ‘All about Spelling’ for my five year old twins recently and think it is brilliant. I love the fact that it stresses mastery and review. I am sure that after completing this course my girls will have a great grounding in spelling rules. I intend to use all of the following levels as I have not seen a program that compares.
We have used AAS with three of our kids so far and have now added AAR too. What great programs! Can’t wait for AAR 2 and up to be released!
It’s the first reading curriculum that has WORKED for my kids.
I think that AAR would definitely make a difference. While my daughter is young she really shows an interest in learning and catches on to things, I just think we need the organized method that you guys present. I wish we could afford it, and I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
My seven year old was struggling with learning how to read. We purchased All About Reading and she has taken off like a rocket. Looking forward to starting Level 2 as soon as it comes out!

I’m a teacher for immersion English in Germany. I teach kindergarten and primary children. I think using this program would be just terriffic for my kindergarten children to learn to read and write. It would be great to get the chance to try it out!
We started AAR1 a month or so ago, and my son’s enjoying it. He loves having his own real book he can read.

We purchased both AAR and AAS Level 1, and just 10 lessons in I have noticed improvement in my 6yo’s reading skills, also my 4yo is now reading along side her. The kids love Run Bug Run and have already read through the entire book. I’m so amazed that they have fallen for this collection of short stories with only black and white pictures, but this is surely because of the confidence they’ve gained in their ability to read them start to finish. I could go on and on about the interactive learning activities and the joy the kids have found for punctuation, but I will just say that I’m ever so pleased with the program and plan to continue through all levels.
I received our AAR Pre-Reading and Level One, a week before school. I opened the materials early in the morning while the children were in bed. I waited patiently with Ziggy on the couch right beside me for them each to wake up; and as usuall one by one they all eventually filed downstairs to find me. When the first arrived he asked “what’s that?” I slipped Ziggy onto my hand and in an instant we had a new member of our family. All three of my boys are completly enamoured with Ziggy. Ziggy told them his story of how he had been captured from African and stuffed in a crate and put on a big ship and was sent across the ocean…he missed his mom and was sad because he lost her before he could learn how to read! The kids were so moved with this story that they invited HIM to their class to learn to read. WELL once they saw the books and they had Zebra’s on the cover they said LOOK it is your mom!!! You have a picture of her!! In our house when Ziggy gets excited he breaks out into the Halleujah Chorus! Ziggy has revolutionized our classroom – with stories of Africa, stories of how in Africa – if a Zebra doesn’t honor his parents he looses a stripe – and on and on. Our pre-reader, 4, wakes ziggy up each day, our Level 1 reader loves to sing him the alphabet and our eldest, 9, is so ready for level two – while he waits for it he is teaching Ziggy to blend his “sounds” together!!!! Thank you Marie and your team for the BEST curriculum I could have ever asked for.

We are using AAS Level 1 with our 5th grader who has dyslexia. This is all review for her, but it is good review that is building her confidence. She actually said that she loves spelling now. We are also using AAR Level 1 with our kindergartener. She is learning the rules of reading accurately and at a pace that is just right for her. She read her first two stories from the reader today, and she was so proud!

I have used all of the All About Reading programs available and have been waiting anxiously for this level to be released. I love the curriculum it is easy to teach especially since I am not a teacher and wouldn’t have a clue as to where to start. Thank you for such an amazing curriculum!

I had been hemming and hawing over getting AAS for a really long time. At least a year. We used a program that got my oldest to read quickly, but her spelling was horrendous. I knew that she needed to be a good speller in order to become an even better reader. I researched and researched. I nearly pulled out my hair while considering all the options out there. AAS was in the running, but I wasn’t completely sure. Finally, after checking out other options, I purchased Level 1 of AAS. WHY OH WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG? This program has been a Godsend for us. I love the ease of using it and my daughter enjoys it. We’re just starting out in the program, but I can see us using it for a very long time. It has made such an impact, that my younger daughter is begging to do it (she’s not ready for AAS yet, though). I’m regretting not purchasing AAR Level 1 at the same time in order to save on shipping. But, we’ll be ordering it soon. I think we’ll love it as much as we love AAS. I also think that winning Level 2 would be fantastic because I’m sure she’ll fly through the program!

We’ve just begun AAS level 1 and I’d LOVE to start AAR with the kiddos this year. My oldest has autism and is somewhat struggling reader. He finds it easier to memorize and he has trouble hearing the different vowel sounds. So…I am really excited about this program for him especially!! Thanks for this opportunity. We are eagerly awaiting AAR2 to be released so that we can use it along side AAS this year! I am hopeful it will take my readers to a new level as they are shown the freedom that exists when they can read on their own.
My son has been working through AAR level 1 and loves it. I’ll be starting AAR pre-level 1 with my younger daughter soon. My kids love Ziggy. They love the cards and playing on the magnetic board.

LOVE AAR Level 1. We tried a few other beginner reading programs first, and this was the one that finally worked. I recently discovered the majority of our issues are a combo of vision and mild dyslexia! Because of how this is designed, she is still learning to read! Anxiously – I mean patiently – awaiting the release of AAR Level 2. Thank you!!
AAS level 1 & AAR level 1 have made spelling & reading a joy instead of a struggle for my 7yr. dd! AAR helped my dd to develope the confidence she needed to start reading more independently. She will now pick up a book & sit down to read all the words she can on her own with no proding from mom! The methods used in the AAS curric. are awesome! I wish I had been taught spelling this way in public school. I am learning right along with my daughter & that makes it more fun for her & mom! Thanks so much for creating theese curriculums! As a high school English teacher now staying at home with my two under 3′, I have no idea how to teach spelling and reading! AAR and AAS may be truly useful.
AAS has made my daughter love spelling and writing. She enjoys this spelling program and will eagerly ask for more! It has made us so happy. We are using AAR for my son and would love AAR2.
We love the All About Spelling and All About Reading programs at our house. Although, I have to say that the All About Reading program is my favorite. My daughter loves the worksheets, books, and games. I love how the reading words for each lesson use the sounds we learned that day, so that it is building upon that foundation. I’m really excited for the new books!
Were definitely AAL fans here! I have kids in AAS Levels 4, 6, and 7 currently and in AAR 1 and Pre-level 1! AAS had helped my children become very good spellers, and I can’t believe how well my dd in AAR 1 is doing! I wish I had had this to teach her older siblings to read. It’s fun for them and so effective! Thank you!

We just began AAR level 1 with my almost 6 year old son and AAS level 1 with my almost 9 year old son. We tried Sequential Spelling and it’s perfect for my daughter, who naturally figures things out on her own – and she continues to use it successfully. But it was NOT working for my oldest son. We began AAS this year and he LOVES it. We’re quickly moving through and about to order level 2. He loves spelling, he asks to do spelling and he can’t wait to get to it! That is enough reason for me. Plus he is learning is and already improving.
My 5 year old is also enjoying AAR and so proud he just read his first story.

AAR Level 1 is perfect for my five year old. She needs lots of practice and review, both of which are built into AAR. The concepts are introduced in small increments so she is never overwhelmed with new learning. We both love the variety of activities in the AAR lessons.

We LOVE All About Spelling and All About Reading. Both of my children are doing wonderful with them. My son finished level 1 of spelling and is now enjoying level 2. He was a struggling speller, but this program is turning that around. My struggling reader is doing great with level one of All About Reading. I am very thankful for both of these programs. My son started doing the pre-1 curriculum about a year ago and it is AMAZING how it helped him as he is now on lesson 10 in level 1. I can see how each activity in pre-1 made a huge impact in learning to read. He is flying through the material and he really loves it. I am most definitely going to stick with this program all the way through! I really trust the thoroughness of the program in teaching every aspect of reading my son needs. Excited to start my twin girls on it in a year! I’m tempted to start them earlier than I really should just because it is so fun!
I just started AAR, level 1 with my high-functioning, autistic 6 year old DS, but he is flying through it so I think we will need level 2 before you know it!

Ahh! I have been waiting to use AAR 2 with my son for so long! I love the frog and have printed and used your early peak lessons from Homeschool Creations. She has a new one, today, too. I sell it at the HEAV Center at every booth – you need to buy this…. etc. I am such a groupie! Used AAR Pre1, AAR 1, AAS 1 & 2, and this year 3 ;)
I think this will motivate my son because it will use all of his senses. He seems to learn quickly that way.
I would like to use AAR/AAS because I have a first grader who I think will love the program and I have an older reader that I feel has some “gaps.” I think this would be great in both situations.

We LOVE All About Spelling. My son struggled with spelling (as did I) until we discovered AAS and now he is actually understanding how our language works and is becoming a great speller. It has helped his confidence so much too. We love this program and would love to try All About Reading with son #2 who is 4!

I must say…I love, love, love All About Spelling!! I never really did know how to teach spelling well before this program. Spelling always came easy to me so I guess I thought it would just ‘sink in’ one day for my children as well, but that wasn’t the case! My son hated to write anything. But since we started AAS he’s much more comfortable. Spelling is his favorite subject now! (he really actually said this 2 days ago) It’s so easy to follow, easy for him to understand, and I love the built in review! It’s just what I need to keep us on track. And I’m getting excited to try All About Reading with my younger son. I don’t have it yet but do plan to use it soon. :) If it’s set up like AAS I know it’ll be great and we’ll love it.
My son completed another program (The Reading Lesson). But simply did have retention of what he had learned. I was reluctant to have him start all over with something else, but am so glad that we decided to try AAR. He is on lesson 14, and what a difference in his reading! This program has so much more depth. And my son is much more willing to do these lessons. My younger child is about halfway through the prereading program, she is loving it. Ziggy is her new best friend! I am so excited about Level 2 being released soon.

We love AAS level 1 and I know AAR level 2 will help bridge the gap I’m struggling to fill myself between Teach Your Child to Read and where my son is trying to read. I’m having a hard time remembering the rules of long vowels.

We are working our way through AAR 1 and are thrilled with the results. We have tried numerous other reading programs and this is the first that has even gotten us close to being able to read. The hands on approach has really helped my son to grasp much of reading.

I am so impressed with the reviews we’ve read about AAS and AAR. It’s been a long road trying to find a curriculum that my 2nd grader with focus on and enjoy doing – and I’m hoping AAR is it! She is a very kinethstetic/visual learner and I love how both programs address multiple styles of learning. I have a beginning reader..I’d like to know more about this program.
My 6 year old son had been very discouraged, prior to using AAS. Now he is soaring! The hand sign clues for the short vowels have helped him nail those sounds. It is a joy to see him learning! I am so thankful for this program.
We love AAR! My 8 year old has had trouble with other programs, but he “gets” it now.
My son and I are using AAR Pre-1 and it is such bonding time for us! He just loves Ziggy and wants to do everything with him. I am finally seeing the letters come alive for him after getting through the first half of the program. He walks around saying words and telling me what they start with! We’d love to receive AAR 1 to start when we finish Pre-1.
His big sister is still using AAS even though she is back at public school. It really helps her slow down and sound out words, so it’s been a great blessing for reading too.

We are loving AAR level 1 in this house and I’m so excited to see that level 2 is coming out soon so we can continue! I just have to figure out where and when to introduce AAS into the mix as well. But since this year is getting off to a slow start, taking some time to figure it out probably isn’t a bad thing. LOL
I’ve been trying to decide between AAR and Barton’s (which my son used last year in school) for my son who struggles with reading as a result of Dyslexia. We loved AAS when we used it two years ago (before he entered school for the year). Winning this would surely seal the deal for us!
We have just started using AAR 1 and I have already noticed more of a confidence and eagerness in my Kindegartne.
We just recently began using AAS2 and are loving it! Having previously used another program for 1st grade that was more of spelling immersion, I really wanted something fun yet full of the why’s of spelling. “Why do we spell this word this way and not some other way?” Though my 2nd grader can spell all of the AAS2 words I wanted to go through it anyways so he could understand all the rules before moving on to level 3. It is SO fun and we are both really loving it. Now I’m looking into getting AAR1 for his younger brother!

We have been using AAS for about a year and a half and just love it!!! It has made the children (and me) better spellers!!!
My oldest went through AAR 1 and is now nearing the end of AAS 1 and doing great. Even though she’s probably already reading at a higher level than AAR 2 covers, I’d like her to go through the program to make sure she really understands the phonics rules and isn’t just memorizing words by sight. I also have a younger daughter who is just finishing up pre-1 and about to move into AAR 1 this winter, because she is *so* eager to read! I can’t wait to go through the levels with her (and the two younger ones coming up). She’s loving Ziggy, too, so I’m hopeful that she’ll really enjoy the adventures with Ziggy add-on pack.

We are using AAS and AAR. They have been a tremendous blessing to our family. We don’t have tears over spelling/phonics/reading. It has really helped my children to put thing together. I have just started using AAS with my struggling 5th grader and love the program! We are halfway through level 1 and have already purchased level 2, I knew level 1 would be a pretty quick review. Looking ahead, I am so excited about what we will be learning (I consider myself a good speller and have never heard of many of these rules, they make so much sense that I feel like I am learning right beside him!). My four year old sits in on the lessons and enjoys working on her phonograms, she would love AAR!

Last year we struggled with reading with our K/1 son. He complained through each lesson. After switching to AAS and AAR he asks daily to do school. These programs have changed his entire view of school! Last week he even said reading was fun!!

I am an occasional teacher (graduated from teachers college in 2010) and also tutor two grade 3 students – both with dyslexia. I’ve used these ideas with success in the classroom and with the students that I tutor. We used AAS Level 1 last year. Alyssa loved the approach used to teach spelling. She enjoyed the lessons … never complained once. I love that the curriculum uses a hands-on and multi-sensory approach. I have noticed her spelling words she learned during AAS correctly in her written samples. She also applies the information found on key cards as she thinks aloud. We are using AAS Level 2 this year and I would love the opportunity to try AAR Level 2 in conjunction with it. I am so grateful and super excited to be utilizing the Pre Reader set and the Level 1 of All About Spelling with my 5 year old son. We are utilizing the second half of the Pre Reader with the letter sounds activities to reinforce the tile activities with the All About Spelling. My 2 year old and 5 year old also enjoy listening to Ziggy read the stories and poems. We have to watch out for Ziggy- he has attempted to nibble on ears and our books.
I would love to use these programs for my 1st and 2nd grader. I think they would benefit greatly from the step by step process.

His reading is coming along better but mostly due to the fact that he has a lot of words memorized now. He is starting to enjoy reading but still struggles with words he does not know and cannot spell words by sound alone. Just started to use All About Spelling with two of my children. After using mutiple yupes of spelling programs, this is much better. It is not memorizing words in your head and then being able to write a test at the end of the week and then forgetting the words. This program givings the necessary tools to children so they can figure out the how and why words are put together the way they are.
I also plan on using the reading books that can correlate with the spelling with my youngest who has a phonological speech delay.

My 6 year old and I are 16 lessons from finishing AAR 1. He’s made so much progress in such a short time. We will definitely be moving on to AAR 2 as soon as we can.

We are currently using AAR pre level 1 with my 4 year old. I was told by many people including therapist that he would have a hard time learning how to read because i didnt start talking untill he was # years old… All about reading has giving us the opportunitie to get a head start and to use the phonics and rhyming aproach with fun learning activities to where my son will have no problems! im so excited about this program because he loves it and is able to do it, contrary to what i was told. thanks to AAR he does not have problems with rhymes!!!
All About Spelling is by far the best spelling program we have used for our daughter. It has been particularly helpful because it causes the student to slow down and take the time to think about each sound in a word. I highly recommend this program and I plan to purchase All About Reading Level 2.

I am really considering starting the AAS program this January for my children. I think the way things are taught are very easy to understand and it gives me everything I need to teach it correctly. I also think the AAR program is very comprehensive as well.
We are working through AAR1 this year. So far, we are to lesson 11, but I have seen SO MUCH improvement in my daughter’s reading! She’s excited to make it to the 4 letter words (which we’ll get to this week!) Thanks!

AAR looks like an amazing program…my two early readers, one 8, one 6 1/2…and the 6 1/2 year old is quickly overtaking the 8 year old…need something to get her up to speed! Plus, my almost-4 and 2 1/2 year olds are already working on sight words (they both know the 100 most frequently used!), and they’re itching to find out what all of those “other words” are! ;)

AAS has helped my struggling reader learn to distinguish the different sounds and be able to decipher words for reading. It has also helped my other child with his speech and spelling issues

It says that if you win but don’t have level one they will send you that instead. Would it be possible to do level two without level one? I ask because I looked at the freebies downloads (that my kids loved) and that is the level my kids are working at. I don’t think we’d need level one.

I have just started AAR level 1 with my son and he is doing such a great job!! I love this program not only does it give him confidence to read but it gives me the confidence to teach it to him.
After years of using “Writing Road to Reading” with my older children, I’ve switched to all about spelling with #4–I just didn’t get around to WRR with her. I love how quick and easy I’m able to give her the spelling lesson. I’m now ready to order All About Reading to get started with #5. I still love Writing Road to Reading, but again, I’m not getting to it, I can’t wait to get started reading with my littlest using All About Reading.

My son has so enjoyed using the All About Reading Level 1! So much more fun and hands on than using Explode the Code or related materials that are more workbook oriented. My older daughter sometimes sits in on his lessons just because they are so much more fun than when she was doing phonics.
I think All about Reading will help my son to progress in his learning to read. He has just started recognizing site words and really wants to learn how to read on his own.
This is our first year using AAR and it has been great! It has helped my struggling reader gain confidence, she loves the stories in the reader, the magnets are a fun hands-on way to read, and the activities are a sneaky way to review without them really feeling like it’s work. I’m sure AAS must be just as great.

We are just starting out on Level 1 and are going kinda slow (my 5 year old will be a great reader but he is pretty strong willed and not always the most cooperative when I need him to be!). We bought our own “Ziggy the Zebra” to use and that has made such a difference! He loves having Ziggy read some of the words and playing the games with Ziggy. It really has made what I thought might be hard to do, become such a fun time together! :-)

Oh my gosh, I can’t even explain! My son, who had problems spelling two-letter words at the beginning of last year, is over half-way through with All About Spelling Level 2 and can master at least half of the words in each step on the first try. I’m beyond pleased and can’t wait to get started with All About Reading!
My son’s reading has improved greatly since we’ve started AAS level 1. I love this program!

I have been using AAR Level 1 with my Kindergartener and it has been wonderful! He is reading so well already and I can not wait to see where he is at the end of this school year.

All About Spelling changed my children’s lives. I tried and tried to teach my oldest to spell. The only thing I finally accomplished with any of the programs I tried was that he finally learned that there IS a right way to spell words.
All About Spelling came along (though it was called something else then!) and things. just. clicked.
My next two are struggling readers and deal with dyslexia. #2 learned to read using All About Spelling. How I wish All About Reading existed then!
I haven’t used AAR however, I am excited to see all the great worksheets, colorful layouts, etc. The positive feedback from above and others who have used your programs is very encouraging!
My oldest child is a strong reader but spelling has been so difficult for her until AAS. I LOVE how thorough it is and it is very easy to teach. SHE loves that she understands the hows and whys to spelling now and can sit down to write (which she loves) without having to ask me how to spell every other word. We have recommended your products to every homeschooler we know!
AAR has been such a gift to our family as well. My next oldest has been wanting to read for 2 years. I tried using the same tools I used for our oldest, and used other tools as well, but NOTHING was clicking for him. I didn’t want to push him, but he so badly wanted to know how to read. I had ordered Ziggy for my pre schoolers and he would sit in and LOVED doing the lessons. Then I noticed the AAR 1 and ordered it. We have slowly been working through the lessons and he can happily say that he can read now! We LOVE our mommy~reading times together. They are so much fun and it is WORKING for him. I will be using your products for all of my kids because it hits every learner in their own unique way and they are easy for me to use while teaching. LOVE LOVE LOVE that we found you!
We have been using AAS and for the first time a spelling curriculum makes sense to me! I’ve been homeschooling for 15 yrs and used the list, write the word 5 times, use it in a sentence, & test method. Never again!
We have loved AAR Level 1. My son became enthusiastic about reading. He really likes the activity book and has made quick progress in reading.

We are using AAS with my older son and it’s helped him so much with not only spelling but his reading too. I’m using AAR 1 with my 6 year old son. We started with AAR Pre-1 and it has made all the difference in the desire to learn to read for him. He loves anything Ziggy so I try to include Ziggy in every lesson in one way or another for him and we also play the Ziggy file folder games to reinforce what’s he’s learning.
We are currently using All About Reading Level 1 and our boys are “getting” the concept of reading and are excited about it! I love how it is taught in small steps with very easy instructions. Great even for children with special needs.

I bought Pre-Reading level for my son last year but he really wasn’t ready so we started it this year. He really enjoys it and really had a difficult time with the blending of sounds and picking out beginning and ending sounds when we began but as we approach the end of the little letters he is really getting it. I am so happy. He loves Ziggy and can’t wait for Ziggy to come out. Thank you so much.

We are about midway through All About Spelling Level 1. We love this program! It is very simple to follow as a parent/teacher. My son loves it because he like the tiles. He also likes the CD. We use it often for dictation and he likes to use it to check himself. We have not used All About Reading Level 1, but thought about it. Instead, I feel he is ready for Level 2 in reading since we will be moving onto level 2 in spelling very soon. Thank you some much for this wonderful program.

I just started using the All About Reading level 1, maybe 2 weeks ago. I am so impressed with this reading program. My son (6) thought he wasn’t a good reader and felt discouraged when I got out our other reading program. I started this and now it is his favorite lesson of the day. He loves the tiles, the cards, & the books. He loves that the books are set up like chapter books and feels as though he can read a chapter book like my older kids.
We love AAR 1 and AAS 1. It’s so easy for me and fun for my kids. I can’t wait to for the next level, which we’ll be on later this school year.

After many years of frustration, tears, & heartache over not being able to read, my dd has tremendously grown in her abilities to decode with AAR level 1. I am absolutely amazed by her progress, especially considering the amount of turmoil in our lives and my {embarrassed to admit} inconsistency. I was beginning to think she would never be able to read, but now, she has started to embrace the books she once viewed with fear & trepidation! Watching her curl up on the sofa with her kitty & a book brings tears of happiness to my eyes every time :’)

We love All About Reading and Spelling! My son went from being in tears during phonics and spelling to actually asking to read after we made the switch to AAR & AAS. We can’t wait to start AAR Level 2.

Let me count the ways I love this program!! We had tried 2 previous well known reading programs that only led to tears and frustration. I began researching programs and found All About Reading. I loved the style of learning and knew my 3 wiggly boys and 2 little girls would benefit so much from this learning style. I loved level 1 so much, I just ordered the pre level 1 for my pre-k son. It would be AWESOME to get level 2 for free!!!

We are currently using AAS 1,2, and 3 (three different children) and AAR pre-level 1. We love these products! My girls are great readers, but they did not catch on as quickly to spelling. I was so thankful when we found AAS. It has been incredibly helpful! Now we are using AAR with my son and we could not be happier.
I think that it will fill in the gaps that I am getting with my current curriculum.

I think the program will make a difference in helping us to teach English/reading to 2 children we hope to adopt from Latvia. I love that it will work for older kids and has the beautiful drawings that are classic and appealing to children of many ages (and not babyish).

My 10 yo dyslexic son is using the AAS level 1 and is starting to see some improvement in his reading. He is feeling more confident and trying harder. I so want AAR for him; I know it would make a world of difference for him.
We love AAR! My son loooooves Ziggy and we both love how fun the activities are, how user friendly it is, how much he learns, and that my younger kiddos can participate in their own way even though they’re not ready to read yet. It really does make reading a pleasure!

I have been using AAS for 1 1/2 years now. I really like the program. I am looking forward to starting AAR with my daughter.
My 5 year old son has been reading fairly well for a long time. Frequent reading practice has been good for his fluency and confidence. Until recently, I didn’t think we needed a curriculum to teach reading. However, I’ve started noticing that there are gaps we didn’t cover such as syllables, vowels/constants and advanced sounds. So he struggles in sounding out new, complex words. I believe AAR curriculum will help fill in a these gaps that will ensure a very solid foundation for future reading and spelling!
My kids now love spelling and ask to do first now since starting AAS! Love this program and we are so thankful to find it. Looking forward to AAR as this is something all my children struggle in and I believe this will really help them a lot!

After teaching 4 children to read with another program – I was dumbfounded that child #5 was having difficulty with it. We started AAR1 over the summer and her reading fluency has really increased. We are almost done with level 1 and excited to start level 2.

All About Spelling and All About Reading can be used for both beginners and older struggling readers/spellers. Students who struggle with spelling should begin with Level 1. Level 1 teaches very important concepts, such as segmenting, the multiple sounds of the first 32 phonograms (o has 4 sounds, ch has 3, s has 2, etc.), and basic spelling rules. It is important that kids know why words are spelled the way they are — they will draw upon this knowledge for the rest of their spelling career. This information applies to more difficult words later in the series.
As an example, we find that many students simply memorize easy words like cat and kid but have no idea why one uses a C and the other uses a K, or that the same rules that apply to these words also apply to higher level words such as concentrate.
Marie encourages parents and teachers to “fast track” through the beginning level or two if the child knows how to spell most of the words but does not understand the underlying basic spelling concepts. Work VERY quickly through lessons where the child knows the words. Pull out several words as examples. Make sure the child understands the concept being taught, and then move on.
Bottom line: with older children, work quickly through the areas the child already knows, and slow down in the areas that need extra attention. “Fast track” until the child hits words or concepts he or she doesn’t already know.

Hi! My 6-year-old and I are enjoying All About Reading Level 1. We played the letter sound bingo game in Lesson 10 today with m&ms. Her older sister, who already knows how to read, wanted to play, too. So I changed it up by saying, “This letter is the 3rd letter in ‘dove’,” etc. She loved it. I even gave her this one: “This letter is the 9th letter in ‘supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.’ Ha ha…Thanks for a great program that is flexible and effective!

After using AAS for my first two, I am trying AAR Pre-1 for my 3rd child, who learns in such a different way than the first two. I love it!!! He loves it!!! Love that we’re both so happy “doing school”.
AAS has made all the difference because I have every confidence that there are no gaps. It’s fun for my kids, the learn thoroughly, I have no questions leaving me wondering as a teacher and confused, and it supplies abundant tools for any situation I find myself in. Love it! We started AAS last week and we are LOVING it! My son really looks forward to each lesson and my 3yo sits eagerly by answering when he can. I had tried to do spelling with my daughter, but she always seemed to follow her own incorrect spelling rules. I couldn’t seem to get through to her that she needed to spell things properly instead of her way. When we got AAS level 1, she thought it was so fun that she actually started to follow the real spelling rules instead of her own. She went from a girl who couldn’t spell a thing to a great speller all in one month. AAS is a miracle in this house!

Spelling and reading are difficult areas for one of my children. And after hearing multiple reviews, I think AAS/AAR would be a wonferful fit.
We love the Orton Gillingham method for our dyslexic child. All About Spelling is a lot of fun compared to the other OG products we have used. I have truly never been so impressed with a company as far as quality of product and in customer service as I am with All About Learning Press!
