P Is for Porcupine

This lowercase letter P craft may seem a little prickly, but don’t be fooled! Underneath all those fancy quills, this pretty porcupine has a soft spot for you and your preschooler. Pass around the paper and pencils, because this craft is practically perfect!

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • 2 sheets of printer paper
  • Card stock (we used yellow, brown, dark brown, and tan)
  • P Is for Porcupine Craft templates
  • 1 googly eye
  • Glue stick, pencil, marker, and scissors

Instructions for Assembling Your Lowercase P Craft

  1. Print the P Is for Porcupine Craft templates.
  2. Cut out the templates and trace the letter P and the porcupine’s spines, face, nose, snout, and feet onto card stock.
  3. Cut out the letter P and the porcupine body parts.
  4. Glue the letter P onto a piece of card stock (we used yellow, but you can use any color you like).
  5. Tuck the spines under the curve of the letter P and glue in place.
  6. Glue the snout onto the face.
  7. Tuck the face under the top left side of the letter P and glue in place.
  8. Tuck the feet under the bottom edge of the letter P and glue in place.
  9. Glue the face in the center of the letter P.
  10. Glue the nose to the tip of the porcupine’s snout.
  11. Affix a googly eye to the porcupine’s face.
  12. Use a marker to draw the porcupine’s mouth.
