says:We have created a nook using an old pack and play. We cut out one small side of the netting. They can crawl in with a blanket and pillow and a pile of books. You can even cover the top with a crib sheet to make a “tent”.

says:A cozy nook definitely encouraged our youngest to increase independent reading! After moving our Christmas tree in January and before we could move the furniture, she claimed the vacant spot with a blanket and an armload of books. Thanks for the list of chapter books! What a great resource!

Sarah
says:We created a reading nook under our stairs. I made a giant cushion and some pillows. We built in shelves for books that are being read right now, on our to read list and some favorites. It is such a comfortable place to read and it has become a family favorite place to be. We are so glad we made an awkward space into something that is functional, cozy, and encourages more reading!

says: Customer ServiceI love the idea of making an underutilized space become such a cherished space for your family! Great idea, Sarah!

says:I am so looking forward to creating something more enjoyable and personalized for each kiddo in a specific area. We have a general area with bookshelves but a small basket and some personalized colors and fun pillows in an enjoyable corner of their room might create the perfect way to encourage more reading throughout their day! My daughter loves to sit and look at books when she’s feeling angry/frustrated so this is the perfect solution for her!
Robin E.

Robin E.

When I started letting my kids stay up an extra half hour to an hour if they were in bed reading, the amount of reading they did each day increased beyond that hour! It is a great way to help motivate children to read more.
