What’s the best thing about a fireworks show? (Besides everything, of course.)
The grand finale, right?
In this fun, free reading and spelling activity, your child will build the most spectacular and grandest grand finale of all time by adding individual fireworks to a night sky with each correct answer.
By mastering the review words, your child will create a masterpiece and become the master of their universe.
Colorful, creative, and multisensory (just like a real grand finale), this engaging activity adds sparkle to reading and spelling practice and makes learning fun.

Instructions for Fantastic Fireworks!
Reading Practice Instructions
Print the night sky page.
Print the fireworks and word cards that correspond to your student’s reading level. (Print the pages back to back, or if you prefer, you can glue or tape the pages together.)
For All About Reading Level 1, print pages 5–8
For All About Reading Level 2, print pages 9–12
For All About Reading Level 3, print pages 13–16
For All About Reading Level 4, print pages 17–20
Cut the cards apart and place them in a pile with the illustrations facing down.
Have your child pick a card and read the word aloud. If he reads it correctly, have him turn the card over to reveal the firework and have him add it to the night sky scene.
Continue until all of the fireworks fill the night sky, and enjoy the grand finale!
Spelling Practice Instructions
Print the night sky page.
Print the fireworks and word cards that correspond to your student’s spelling level. (Print the pages back to back or tape or glue the pages together.)
For any level of All About Spelling, print pages 21–24
Cut the cards apart and place them in a pile with the illustrations facing down.
Have your child pick a card. Dictate a word from your child’s current lesson of All About Spelling (or a review word) and have her write the word on the blank line. If she spells it correctly, have her turn the card over to reveal the firework and have her add it to the night sky scene.
Continue until all of the fireworks fill the night sky, and enjoy the grand finale!
