L Is for Lights Craft

Lights, camera, craft! Illuminate your child’s love of letters with this shining lowercase L craft! This cheery string of colorful lights is sure to brighten up any room and make your preschooler’s face light up, too!

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • 2 sheets of printer paper
  • Card stock (we used light blue, gray, yellow, orange, purple, blue, red, and green)
  • L Is for Lights Craft templates
  • Glue stick
  • Pencil and scissors

Instructions for Assembling Your Lowercase L Craft

  1. Print the L Is for Lights Craft templates.
  2. Cut out the templates and trace the letter L, bulb bases, and bulbs onto card stock.
  3. Cut out the letter L, bulb bases, and bulbs.
  4. Glue the letter L onto a full sheet of card stock (we used light blue, but you can use any color you like).
  5. Form the bulbs by gluing a bulb base to the bottom edge of each bulb.
  6. Attach the bulbs to the sides of the letter L.

Learning with Your Letter L Craft

As you and your child assemble your L Is for Lights Craft, practice saying /l/–/l/–lights together. You can find more tips for working on pre-reading skills with your preschooler in this handy download.
