A snake on a pancake? An elephant in a tractor? In this game, your child will make silly sentences about animals in strange places. Get ready for some silly match-ups!
Are you ready? This could get a bit silly!
Select the animal and place cards you want to review with your child. The animals cards are marked with a paw print on the back and the place cards are marked with a compass rose. You’ll notice that the paw print and compass rose symbols are color-coded for each level. Shuffle and place the cards face down in two piles, one for animals and one for places.
Have your child draw one card from each pile.
Now let him read the resulting silly sentence.
Continue playing until your child has successfully read all the silly sentences. For more practice (and more fun!), shuffle the cards and play again!
What’s your favorite way to review reading? Let me know in the comments below!

says:I have finished homeschooling my three children. Now I am in on-line college trying to get an associates degree in early childhood education. This looks like so much fun. I spent the last 23 years looking for and playing educational games with my children. Now I have another game to play with the little ones I will be helping. Thank you

Carol Jacobs
says:The animals are not “on” the objects, they are “with” the objects. I was trained never to teach something that you will ultimately need to unteach, like “You can’t take 5 from 3.” You can and wind up with a negative number.
