The Teacher’s Manuals have been updated with 150+ pages of new material per level including expanded “Before You Begin” sections and appendices, LOTS of brand-new teaching tips, and even more hands-on learning activities than before. Each brand-new, full-color activity book features over 200 pages and includes a delightful assortment of activities and Word Banks, all designed to help your child succeed in spelling and enjoy it every step of the way. For older students who need more of a challenge, Advanced Application sections provide the opportunity to practice new concepts with higher-level, multisyllable words. You’ll also find full-color pull-out posters with spelling rules so they’re easy to reference any time! (Plus the posters are super cute and feature the hero character from that level. So fun!) We’ve heard it over and over again… your students love those hero characters! That’s why we’ve created custom stickers to correspond with each level! Each sticker pack includes a large sticker of that level’s hero character. Collect all the characters and place them somewhere special once the program is complete!

Don’t worry, we are here to help! We’ve created a special information page to help give customers a more in-depth view of the Color Edition levels, but here are answers to a few questions you might have. As always, our customer support team is just an e-mail away.
Yes! We were so excited about all the hard work we put into the All About Spelling Color Edition, we decided to release the completed levels 1 and 2 immediately. We are working diligently to complete levels 3-7 as fast as we can!
No. The lessons in the Color Edition were changed slightly and the Color Edition activity book will not line up with the First Edition Teacher’s Manual.
Yes, the two editions follow the same scope and sequence, so you can move between the Color Edition and black-and-white versions without any trouble. For example, you can go from black-and-white Level 1 to color Level 2 to black-and-white Level 3.
We’ve made purchasing even easier! Due to customer feedback, we have phased out our Interactive Kits. Instead, the Letter Tiles now include all tiles needed for all levels of All About Reading and All About Spelling and are purchased separately as a one-time purchase. The divider cards are also now included with the review boxes.

We anticipate All About Spelling Level 3 to be released in the Color Edition early in 2024.
I’m sorry I can’t offer a more specific ETA, but there are many aspects of publishing that are beyond our control. We’ll announce additional levels through our email newsletter and on our social media pages as we get closer to the release dates.

Level 4 will be a few months after that; it’s still too early to be able to give a more specific ETA for it.

The cards have changed as well. The biggest difference is that the Rule Cards (formerly “Key Cards”) for both levels have been completely rewritten to be easier to memorize, and the number of them has changed. The rules all have names now as well. These will not match the old materials at all. Word Cards were added to both levels, some have been moved to different lessons, and many Level 2 words were removed. The Phonogram and Sound Cards in Level 1 were rearranged to match the order of AAR 1. Cards now say “Spelling” on them, so it’s easier to differentiate between spelling and reading Word Cards, and the edition is also listed.

says:I used the original AAS level 1 with my son and had actually already ordered level 2 to start, when these new colored ones came out. I contacted All About Learning Press to see if I could return the old version level 2 and order the new one. They said I had a year to return, so that’s what I did. We are a little less than half way through level 2 and my son loves this version so much more! We also use AAR and he enjoys that so much and it has made teaching him to learn to read so much easier and more fun than other programs we tried first! When I 1st started him with Level 1 spelling, he would fight me and hated doing it. The activities have really made a difference! Even though he still loves his reading better, he no longer fights me and has come so far learning how to spell! I really hope they release the new Level 3 soon, before we need to start it!

Unfortunately, Level 3 will not be available in 2023. We anticipate releasing Levels 3 and 4 in the new Color Edition early in 2024.

says:I decided to purchase both levels. I have one in level 1 and one that was midway through level 2. I decided to use the color edition level 2 for my child already working on the black and white edition of level 2. We are using it to review the rules again and she loves it. She said it is a lot more fun than the black and white version and is enjoying the activities.
