Thank you for offering this contest! My son struggles with reading a bit and, with the pandemic, I an afraid he is sinking further and further. We are part of a public school but have chosen to keep him home and do online education. It is so difficult for him. I have decided to take his reading education into my own hands and begin homeschooling. This resource would be such a great start! Thank you for the opportunity!

This program has increased the confidence of my sons reading and spelling so much! He can read spontaneously when looking up recipes to cook better, reading during board games and Even when playing video games ;) COVID Homeschooling has given us the ability to use this program and catch him up so much and I cant even say how Proud I am of him. He also praises this curriculum = and what 8 year old says stuff like that ?!

Thank you!

This was wonderful to read, Jessica! Way to go, both of you! I love that he even recognizes the difference that using a curriculum that teaches to the way he learns can make.

Keep up the great work!

I am teaching my grandson at home with All About Learning. Wyatt is Dyslexic and has only 1% working memory. What that meant for him is that from the 1st grade the school was not teaching him but leaving him further and further behind. I had met with the school for every IEP meeting and nothing was happening to further his education. Finally due to the virus I took him out of school to homeschool him. The best decision I could have made. All About Learning has made it easy for me to teach Wyatt and since we are one on one he can go at his own pace. Therefore he is able to remember what he is learning. All About Learnings teaching method is designed for children like Wyatt and there is no question how to teach the material as it is made perfectly clear.
The special education teacher from his school oversees my teaching as is required by Washington Law thinks I should become a special education teacher AAL has made me look that good.
Most important to note is that I started Wyatt in Level 1 Spelling and Level 2 Reading which worked out perfect for us. All the Reading material we have learned in Level 2 is being reviewed in the Level 2 Spelling that we just started which is helping him remember what we already learned. So we accidentally went right into the perfect levels which is helping Wyatt and his personal needs. Thanks to AAL

I’m SO excited about this! I homeschool my 4 daughters and I can’t thank you enough for what your books have done for them. I only wish I would’ve discovered these with my 2 oldest. My 2 youngest struggled with reading, but halfway through kindergarten I switched to these books per a friend’s recommendation and now my girls read above grade level and enjoy doing so very much! Thank you SO much! :)

Dana Tietavainen

says:

My daughter is struggling to read and write because we live in Finland, and Finnish is one of those languages where the words are spelled exactly like they sound. Even though she’s a native English speaker and not a native Finnish speaker, she comes home from school feeling “English spelling is stupid. Why should I bother when I can just watch the movie?”. She also has mild dyslexia, so this set of books could be really helpful. Might be a nice resource for the other second graders who are also learning English now as well. It would be nice to have a set and show them to her Montessori teacher. :)

Dana,
Yes, English reading and spelling can be difficult, especially when compared to some other languages where each sound has exactly one spelling and each spelling has exactly one sound.

However, there is more logic and pattern to English than many programs suggest. I does sound like our materials might be helpful to your student and her classmates.
